Winners named in Norfolk Christian Youth League

Three of the Norfolk Christian Youth Leagues have completed their football seasons after a lockdown break with winners now decided.

“It was great to be able to restart football after lockdown and complete all three age-groups in the Norfolk Christian Youth Leagues,” said league secretary Alan Barnes. “All teams involved appreciated the opportunity to meet and play again under Covid guidelines.

“In the Under 16 age group, Old Catton Soul Church completed their season by winning the league comfortably from Brooke Adventurers. Many of the players will now move to Under 18 or adult football.

“At Under 14, Easton FC completed a perfect season to take the league title, winning all ten games. They were rewarded for having an  team of excellent technical ability, who support each other with great passing and movement. Brooke Adventurers finished in second place, followed by Heigham Park Rangers.

“In the under 12 division, Silver Road FC were clear winners, with a potent attacking force. Bungay Town pushed hard, as did Thorpe St Andrew Jaguars who had a creditable 3-3 draw with the champions in the final weeks of the season,” said Alan.

The league is always on the lookout for any new teams who would like to play in the above age-groups. Games are 7-a-side and played on Saturday mornings. This could be for church groups or existing clubs that like to provide development football for a group of players. If you would like more details, contact the league Secretary, Alan Barnes- secretary@norfolkcfl.co.uk.
