Briston church launches Upcycling Festival

The Twin Tracks Upcycling Festival aspires that nothing should be wasted, with exhibitions, workshops, talks, and demonstrations at All Saints Briston and St Mary Burgh Parva from this Tuesday.

The launch event for the festival is on Tuesday 12 September at 7pm in Briston Church, and will feature the Twin Tracks Community Choir led by Jane Laband, which has grown rapidly since forming in November, and Strings: a celebration of stringed instruments, including the iconic Briston Iron Cello and Philip Taylor’s 5,000 year old Bog Oak Violin and Anto Morra punkfolker and upcycler.
 
The festival will then run until Sunday 17 September and will include workshops, demonstrations and talks for children and adults, creativity trails, and market stalls showcasing the work of artists, artisans and local ingenuity. The workshops will include: Clocks from Cartons, Making Mosaics, Don’t Ditch it Stitch It, Upcycling Vintage Vehicles, Button Collage plus lots more.
 
Concept designs and budgets for renewing All Saints Briston and St Mary Burgh Parva will be displayed on Saturday 16 September when James Mellish (project manager) will be conducting a community consultation on the Twin Tracks Project.
